When I try to open the file ASValidateUs

When I try to open the file ASValidateUsers.sln it gives me the error message "the application for project 'c:\...\ASValidateUsers.csproj' is not installed", even though I have been using Visual Studio all day on another .sln file. Am I doing something fundamentally wrong?
