Senior SQL Developer – Fulltime – Northern NJ

This role is responsible for the development and support of applications in clients Microsoft development environment.  The Senior Database Developer will work in all of Microsoft SQL Server development tools, Integration Services, Reporting Services, Analysis Services, and TSQL, as well as interfaces within Sharepoint and BizTalk.  This role also assists the Business Analysis team in developing functional and detailed design specifications and data models.

Responsibilities:

Leadership in the development of business applications using Microsoft tools:

o SQL Server DBMS

o SQL Server Integration Services

o SQL Server Reporting Services

o SQL Server Analysis Services

• Provide technical expertise to functional and detailed designs.
• Proficient in the usage of relational and multi-dimensional database models within a business application.
• Recommend optimizations and reconfigurations of physical application designs and data structures.
• Engage with business users, analysts, technical staff, and project team members to design, develop, implement, and enhance applications.
• Work with database administrators to migrate applications from development and testing to production.
• Recommend and evaluate new tools and methodologies.
• Provide full life cycle architectural guidance and ensure quality deliverables.
• Participates in the development and maintenance of corporate data architecture, data management standards and conventions, data dictionaries and data element naming standards.
• Assists in the development of overall project plans and timetables.

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• 5+ years experience developing business applications in a SQL Server 2000/2005/2008 environment
• 3+ years hands on experience SQL Server Integration Services writing scalable, high volume ETL jobs
• 3+ years hands on experience developing SQL Server stored procedures, functions and triggers
• Proficiency in TSQL
• Proven experience working within teams to design and develop large scale, global, enterprise-wide business applications
