There is a whole lot of views on interviewing. Different shops focus on different skills. The interview tricks can be easily learnt though. My personal experience as a senior .net dev, after a long time since previews interview was interesting. I interviewed for a seninor dev role and I couldn't answer all the common interview tricksthey eventually came to concusion that I have gaps in my knowledge and offered me a dav role with low salary. I declined the offer and studied interview questions for a day online. Next week I had another interview and aced it, they where pretty similar style of interview but next week I got an offer as a senior with salary almost double the first one. I am now a key part of the team and have made them uch more than they paid me. What I learn from above experience? People who think are smart interviewers are usually one dimentional. Living in their own limited world.
