Video - Introducing the Next Generation Design Tools for Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services

Microsoft SQL Server code-named "Denali" brings the simplicity and power of the PowerPivot technologies to corporate BI, and at the same time drives forward the PowerPivot self-service capabilities that we introduced in SQL Server 2008 R2. We give you a tour of building corporate BI Semantic Models in a new experience for Business Intelligence professionals in BI Development Studio (BIDS), and look at some of the opportunities and trade-offs of the new model. We show some of the great new features coming in both PowerPivot and BIDS for KPIs, hierarchies, DAX, diagram and more, as well as how you can build models that drive great Crescent experiences. We also cover some of the ways that BI Semantic Models can scale to huge data volumes using features like partitioning.
