Message to authors

We are constantly looking for articles about Microsoft SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS) on the web. We use different methods to make sure that we are aware of all of the SSAS related articles/blog posts available online. Still, it is very hard for us to find posts that were published recently, and probably not even indexed by search engines. So if you just started a blog that is related to SSAS, please let us know (use the "Contact Us" page) so we can consider it for inclusion into our website. For search engines it is very important to have links that point to your site - many search engines will not index pages that do not have any incoming links.

Normally we publish just blogs/articles in the English language. If your content language is different, we could translate your blog and publish it to our website with a link to your original page. We strongly urge you to consider this option, as this would significantly increase your exposure. We would need an e-mail from you indicating that you are OK with us translating and publishing your content and we would take care of technical details.

When we find an article/blog post on the web that is related to SSAS, we review it and decide if we should include it to our website. We use the following criteria:

  • The article/blog post content should be directly related to SSAS.
  • We are looking for technical posts with detailed explanations of the problem and the solution. If your article is very short, we are not likely to include it into our website. If you are writing about some generic observations we are also not likely to add the post to our website.
  • If users need to register to your website before they can read your articles/posts, then we will not add your article/blog post to our website. Exceptions are made for websites that have free registration and are considered to be very popular between SQL Server / SSAS developers.
  • On our website we have pages for most SSAS related tools and client software. If your article/blog post reviews a specific SSAS related tool or client software, we would consider adding a link to your review directly from that tool/client software page.

By default, we create a post on our website with the first few paragraphs of your article and then a link to your original post. But if you want more exposure, we would ask you to consider letting us re-publish your post on our website in full. In such case we do following:

  • We add a message with the link to the original post at the start of the article/blog post: "Reposted from FirstName LastName blog with the author's permission".
  • We add the author's picture at the bottom of the article/blog post.
  • We add a short author's biography with links to their blog and optionally to their company.

We believe that such arrangement makes readers remember the author. Please compare these 2 posts: "Short Post" and "Full Post" and decide yourself which one promotes author better.

To let us re-publish the full content of your post simply write us a short e-mail and we will do all the work. You will always be the owner of your content and if at any point you would like to change your arrangement, just let us know and we will update your posts.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us. Our e-mail is:
