“Denali” Analysis Services where is online mode in BIDS with tabular models
One of the first things I noticed when working on a Tabular mode SSAS database is that I could not connect to an Analysis Services tabular database in BIDS “online” mode like I could with a multidimensional model. While it is dangerous to connect to a live SSAS database and make changes, I used this option quite often in previous versions of SSAS (in BIDS go to file | open | Analysis Services Database). When I tried to do this with a tabular mode database I was met with an error.
