Extracting data from OLAP to Excel 12.0 settings

I had this requirement of extracting data from OLAP cube to Excel 12.0  . I tried to use DTS feature Export/ import tool to do the task but i found problem using this, as SQL doesnt support .xlsx extension which is the extension of Excel 12.0 file.

Here iam giving few steps to over come this problem .. hope this helps in saving few of your time as i spend more time to find this.

 one way is to use SSIS .

1) connect with new connection 

2) ADD OLEDB connection manager

3) Create new connection manager by clicking new Button and follow the below diagram for Excel 12.0 settings.

 Above are the steps to follow to overcome Excel 12.0 (.xlsx) problem .
